Success! We had a wonderful turnout (nearly 30 people!) for our first ever raw, vegan gathering through the NCRaw.com meetup. To celebrate our new home at the Transformations for Health Wellness Center where we have begun teaching classes, we threw an appetizer party and dessert contest.
The night started out great. We offered three different appetizers which were a big hit: kale chips, mini pizzas, and pesto stuffed mushrooms. I wish we would have gotten a photo of the big bowl of kale chips I made (6 large bunches of kale)…but these photos will give you an idea of how much food we had. Once people started getting full we knew it was time to switch to desserts. We were thrilled that so many people decided to enter a dessert into our contest. It was so much fun to see what everyone came up with, plus we all got to try 8 different desserts. While every dessert got at least one vote, the winner received more than half of the votes.
Thanks to everyone who came and everyone who entered a dessert. We’ll be doing more events like this soon!
